LOV’N MY CURVES AT THE 26TH ANNUAL HARLEM HOLIDAY LIGHTS 2019 CELEBRATION IN NEW YORK

On November 20, 2019, Lov’n My Curves hosted a Curvy Shopping District in partnership with the 125th Street Business Improvement District at the 26th annual Harlem Holiday Lights 2019 celebration in New York. The highly anticipated holiday event draws several hundred people to 125th Street. As first time participants, Lov’n My Curves hosted the first-ever Curvy District. The Curvy district featured a series of events, including live fashion demonstrations featuring plus-size models, a book signing with a plus-size supermodel, and the winner of Project Runway, Liris Crosse. LMC also accepted submissions for the LisaRaye PZI Woman National Curvy Model Search at Ashley Stewart on 125th Street.

An ensemble of fifteen plus-size “Curvy Rockets” in outfits inspired by, and looking much like the Radio City Rockettes, descended on the 125th Street business corridor for photo opportunities, meet and greets appearances at the various events, including an appearance at the legendary Apollo Theater. The night ended with the Curvy Rockets as the center attraction atop several floats during the Parade of Lights.

PZI JEANS X LISARAYE MCCOY NATIONAL MODEL SEARCH

Lov’n My Curves partnered with PZI Jeans by LisaRaye McCoy in 2019 to host a national model search to kick off the official launch of her new Curvy Jean Line. After receiving more than one thousand submissions, Lov’n My Curves and PZI jeans selected 15 finalists from across the country and debuted the Jean collection at the Lov’n My Curves Philadelphia Fashion Week Spring 2020 show. Five winners were chosen and will be featured alongside LisaRaye McCoy in a national campaign for PZI Jeans.

LOV’N MY CURVES MULTI-CITY CASTING TOUR

In preparation for the Fall 2019 runway show, the Lov’n My Curves team took the East Coast by storm for the entire 2019 summer and hosted a multi-city casting tour to include stops in Newyork, Baltimore, and Philadelphia. The tour was the result of the growing outreach from hopeful models from various cities along the east coast. Models flew in from as far as Memphis Tennessee, Atlanta Georgia, and Florida,  for their chance at becoming a Lov’n My Curves model.
